Satellite Cafe – Just off King St, Newtown.

This little cafe is tucked off King St on the corner of Wilson and Brown St. It has great food for vegans and non-vegans alike and a quirky atmosphere.

Vegan status: a few tasty vegan options for breakfast and lunch. They are not listed as vegan, but all the staff seem to be knowledgable about vegan dietary requirements. The vegan dishes are already vegan so you don't need to worry about your toast turning up with butter on it.

Price range: between $12 and $15 for meals.

Recommendations: the dirty ensalada (a pesto rice and roast vegetable salad), the house baked beans on toast and the good start (brown rice, maple syrup and fruit). The coffee is pretty good too.
