Vegetable Pakora.

This simple starter is delicious and great for using up left over vegies in the fridge.

Makes 12 small pakora.


  • 2 cups mixed grated vegetables (I used onion, carrot and potato)
  • 1 1/3 cups chickpea flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • Oil for frying


Mix together the flour and water into a batter. Add all the remaining ingredients into the batter.

Heat about 1/2 an inch of oil in a fry pan. When the oil is very hot add spoonfuls of batter to the oil. Fry for 3 minutes each until they are golden brown. Drain and serve with green coconut chutney.
