This tomato sauce is the basis for many italian recipes, the bay leaves add sweetness to the sauce.
Makes three cups of sauce.
In a hot pan add about two tablespoons of olive oil and the onions. When the onions are soft add the garlic and saute for half a minute.
Add the tomatoes and bay leaves. When the tomatoes have begun to boil, turn the heat down and simmer for 2-3 hours (or only 30 minutes if that’s all you have). Season to taste.
