Black Star is an amazing bakery and is well worth the visit, because even though there is usually a single vegan cake it will be pretty tasty.
Sababba is an Isreali falafel place in Newtown and other places around Sydney that has a good selection of vegan felafel pita pockets, chips and baklava.
This busy little wine bar serves a wide range of beer and ciders and a selection of wine as well as making great vegan food.

One of Neil Perry’s Rockpool restaurants, it has amazing Chinese food, friendly professional service and a very cool atmosphere.
This pizza joint is great, the food is delicious, delivery is fast and it is incredibly cheap. Instead of using soy cheese pizzas the vegan pizza is made with a generous topping of tahini sauce which works very well.
This little restaurant next to the Norfolk Hotel on Cleveland St looks like the kinda place your nana would hang out and play cards at. The food is absolutely amazing which fortunately more than makes up for incredibly laid back service.
Now closed. Mad pizza have just added vegan pepperoni and vegan chicken to their menu and I think they are now the best vegan pizza in Newtown – good pizza, fast delivery, vegie and fake meat pizza and very reasonable prices.
This restaurant is a Sydney institution, it has been around for about 15 years, and is the place carnivores takes their visiting vegan friends because it is the one place they have heard of!
